ESSEX

I have always marvelled at the rich musical breeding ground that my home county of Essex has produced in terms of contemporary music. I don’t know any other region that has a fertile territory in this country outside London and Manchester. Featured here are many that spawned from Essex, Ian Dury, I will admit was born in Middlesex, but he spent some of his formative years in Essex and thanks to ‘Billericay Dickie’ and ‘Lord Upminster’, he is featured here as an honorary Essex Man......
